Or Straight From the Practice

Where a pet died at the vet, or an appointment was kept and they remained there, collection happens directly from the practice. There is no need to go back, nothing to carry, and no arrangement for you to make with them beyond saying you have chosen us. Where a second pet remains, expect them to notice immediately and completely. Appetite frequently drops for a week or two, sleep moves, and some become clingy while others withdraw entirely. Letting a surviving animal see the one who has died tends to reduce the searching afterwards, although a fair number want no part of it whatsoever, which is just as ordinary. Anything persisting beyond a few weeks is worth mentioning to your vet, particularly where an animal genuinely stops eating rather than simply eating less, since grief and illness can look much the same from outside.
