Bold Heath Pet Cremations – Coming Out to the Lanes

Somewhere this small has almost nothing of its own, and whatever a household needs generally arrives from one of the three towns nearby. Heavenly Pastures provides pet cremations for families at Bold Heath and along the roads spreading out from it. Location first, since it is what people most often get wrong about us. A Crossroads Between Three Towns

Bold Heath is a handful of houses, a pub and some farms gathered where the roads meet, with Widnes one way, St Helens another and Warrington a third. People here often give a different town depending on who is asking, and a good many households have registered with a vet in one of them while doing their shopping in another, and the countryside starts immediately at the back of the properties. It means that families here are used to services arriving from elsewhere and are frequently braced to be told they sit outside somebody’s area. On this occasion they do not.

Ribbon Housing and Working Land

What housing there is runs mostly along the main road, with farmland pressing in behind it. That produces two rather different sorts of household. Families in the roadside properties keep the animals anybody keeps. The farms behind them keep working dogs, yard cats and a variety of livestock, and the two arrangements sit within a few hundred yards of one another. Both are looked after here to exactly the same standard, and nobody at this end asks which sort of household is telephoning.

Livestock and Companion Animals Are Treated Differently

Only one real distinction applies and it is a legal rather than a sentimental one. Animal by-product regulations handle animals kept as stock separately from those kept as companions, and this governs what may happen to them afterwards. Wherever it slept, a dog or cat kept as a companion sits outside those rules. An animal that formed part of the farm business may not. Where a household covers both, ringing and explaining takes a couple of minutes and prevents a good deal of confusion.

Getting Down the Lanes

Reaching properties out here is nothing unusual for us. Mention the access when you telephone if the drive is long, the gate awkward, or the animal in a barn rather than a house, and we will come equipped accordingly. Choose your own hour. There is nothing to prepare in advance and nobody should be moving an animal on our account. Where a dog is large and the ground underfoot poor, which happens often enough out here in winter, we will bring what is needed rather than expecting anybody at the house to help lift. Where a pet died at a veterinary practice, in any of the three towns, we collect straight from there instead, which spares you a journey back for them on a day when driving is the last thing you should be doing.

The Two Options Explained

One decision matters more than the rest. An individual cremation service involves your animal and no other at any point, which is why their ashes can come home to you. A communal cremation service means a group cremated together and nothing given back to anyone. The same hands do both work and the same care goes into each. Because the second leaves nothing to return and cannot be undone afterwards, settle it deliberately rather than agreeing on the spot.

What It Costs

Everything is published on the pet cremation price list rather than quoted to individuals, which means you can work out where you stand before speaking to a soul. Cremation follows weight bands. The journey out is charged separately by travel time from Burscough, mapped on the areas we cover page. Making the trip yourself removes that element and you would be very welcome to.

Evenings and Weekends

Standard hours run Monday to Friday, with a separate out-of-hours arrangement at additional cost. Should an animal die in the evening and morning be soon enough, morning costs less and loses you nothing at all. Cool, quiet and undisturbed until then is genuinely sufficient. Nothing deteriorates across a single night and no option closes off by waiting a few hours.

Small Animals Count Equally

Rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, birds and reptiles are cared for in exactly the way a large dog is, and the size of the animal alters nothing about it. People telephoning about something very small are often half expecting to be told it hardly merits a proper arrangement. That is not something anybody hears here. A child who has lost a hamster is grieving properly and gets treated accordingly, and the same goes for the adult who has lost a rabbit they nursed through two winters.
