The Decision You Should Not Make Alone
An individual cremation service means the animal is cremated on their own and the ashes come back to you in person. A communal cremation service puts the animal in with others, and no household receives ashes from it. Organisers frequently settle this quickly to get it done, and it is the one decision worth slowing down for, because somebody else in the household may want those ashes very much and will not say so unless asked. A single question now saves a conversation you do not want in six months.
When It Was a Dog and the House Is Full of Their Things
Whoever organises the cremation usually ends up dealing with the bed, the bowls and the lead as well, often within days because the sight of them is upsetting somebody. There is no rush on any of that and no correct timescale.
